Commuting Carbon Footprint
Your employees’ commuting carbon footprint of is one of the emissions categories that many customers now require from their suppliers. Previously, only Scope 1, direct emissions and Scope 2, indirect emissions were required by most large customers. This has changed.
From 2021, if you supply the UK government with £5m or more of goods or services per annum, you will need to calculate employee commuting emissions as part of your “carbon reduction plan”. Many commercial companies are following suit.
We can take the pain out of reporting your commuting carbon footprint. GHGi Commuting is our online system where each employee completes a short series of questions about their commute and home working habits. The system allows for multi-stage journeys and multiple travel types.
Immediately after submission, the employee is presented with their weekly commuting emissions. They will also see the emissions arising from any homeworking they undertook. This immediate feedback should encourage a higher response rate from your employees.
Apart from the basic emissions information, the organisation receives a detailed series of reports including the breakdown by journey type.
